A. User-Provided Information We collect information that you provide directly to us to enable the app’s social and utility features. This includes Account Data such as your name and email address used for account creation and authentication. We also collect Social Data provided when you add friends or interact with other users. For our core features, we collect Bill Splitting Data regarding totals and split amounts that you manually input. Note that Cheddar does not process financial transactions or store bank account or credit card details. Additionally, we store Communications from any correspondence you have with our support team.

B. Automatically Collected Information When you use the app, we may automatically collect Technical Data including your device ID, device type, operating system version, and IP address. We also gather Usage Data regarding how you interact with the app, such as features used and time spent on specific screens.

 

Use of Information

We use your data to facilitate the core add friends and split bills functionality. It is also used to provide customer support and respond to your enquiries. Furthermore, we analyse and personalise app content and features to improve the user experience, maintain the security and integrity of our platform, and meet legal and regulatory requirements in the Maldives.

 

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information with other users by making your name or username visible to friends you add to facilitate bill splitting. We may also share data for legal reasons to comply with Maldivian laws or regulatory authorities. Finally, we work with Service Providers who are trusted third-party vendors that assist us in operating our app, provided they adhere to strict confidentiality agreements.
